Skydiving!

Well, last Saturday I went skydiving for the first time! Me, Guillaume and Chrissy were all celebrating our birthdays (last Thursday and Wednesday, respectfully) and what better way to that then throw yourself out of a plane at 14,000 feet :)

Jervis Bay Weekend Break

So, last weekend I had a fantastic weekend break down at Jervis Bay - its a small area about 2.5 hours drive south of Sydney, right in the middle of an absolutely massive national park.

Me, Winston, Emilie, Jean-Michelle and Guillaume (spot the frenchies :) rented a great little house for the weekend, drank a whole lotta beer and had some excellent bbq grub, as well as going to some really amazing beaches.

I even went snorkelling for the first time - just check out that crystal clear electric blue waters, and blistering white sand! Living the dream my friend, living the dream...

Senator Joe Biden (D-DE)

Just check out the power of this man as an orator on the floor - he completely rips the GOP and Bush to pieces over there failure, in every sense, in Iraq.

A simple statement of facts

The simple problem is that the free market, the ideology on which the US is built, is bad news for the US unless it can be managed by military power.

And there is no contingency plan for the current failure of that approach.

Bad Day at the Office

You couldn't really make this one up, could you?

Still, I'm glad to see that when their not busy implementing apartheid schemes or dropping cluster munitions on civilians, Israeli politicians like to kick back and relax like everyone else...

On a related note, I recommend everyone listen to this interview with Robert Fisk, Chief Middle East correspondent with the Independent, on Democracy Now! He is an incredibly well informed, articulate and passionate journalist who is really beyond reproach in his writing.

I'd also generally recommend everyone check out Democracy Now! on a regular basis, they are consistently excellent interviews with some great people - for example, check this very interesting interview with Gen. Wes Clark, or this one with Chris Hedges on the parallels between the American Religious Right and the fascist movements of interwar Europe...
